Joanna L. (Nasar) McWilliams is a writer and editor.  She got her start working as an editorial assistant for a health and science textbook publisher, and has since gone on to write about health, wellness, science and the environment for a wide range of new and traditional media outlets. Her work has appeared in outlets such as, the United Nation's publications, American Cowboy Magazine, the Novato Advance, the Rocky Mountain News, etc. She holds an M.A. in journalism and mass communications from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

She is well-versed in all aspects of marketing, communications, and social media. She has grown brands social media followings by more than 300 percent in her first six months without an advertising budget; and garnered international media coverage from outlets like the San Francisco Chronicle, Tico Times, NPR, and NBC.

She was recently named one of Origin Magazine's Top Adventure Creatives.
